Scope of Services by MC4S

MC4S is a Thailand-based team that coordinates four connected medical transport services — Air Ambulance, Medical Escort, Ground Ambulance, and Medical Solutions — for patients moving to, from, and within Thailand. Whether a case needs a dedicated aircraft, a doctor or nurse on a commercial flight, a road transfer between a hospital and an airport, or help with hospital liaison and documentation, one team manages it from the first call to the final handover.

Cases are arranged directly with patients, families, and hospitals, with a written, itemized quotation before any commitment — and support is available 24/7. Below is a closer look at how the four services work together to provide a safe and smooth journey for every patient.

1. Air Ambulance

Air Ambulance

Global (International & Intercontinental). An Air Ambulance is a dedicated, medically equipped aircraft — a “Flying ICU” — for patients who need continuous critical care during transit. MC4S coordinates the right aircraft and medical crew through accredited aviation partners, then manages the case from bedside to bedside.

  • Geographic Reach: Worldwide, subject to aircraft availability, permits, and medical clearance — every case is confirmed individually with the treating doctor before departure.
  • Clinical Capabilities:
    • ICU/CCU Level Care: Ventilator support, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, and in-flight blood gas analysis maintained throughout the flight.
    • Specialized Teams: Flight Physicians and Critical Care Nurses with aviation medicine certification.
    • High-Risk Profiles: Cardiac conditions, severe trauma, respiratory failure, and infectious diseases requiring isolation.
  • Operational Inclusions: Bed-to-bed transfer (Hospital A to Hospital B), tarmac ambulance coordination, and immigration clearances.

2. Medical Escort

Global (Commercial Airline Routes). A Medical Escort accompanies a stable patient on a normal commercial flight — medical supervision without the cost or complexity of a dedicated aircraft.

  • Geographic Reach: Any destination served by major commercial airlines.
  • Service Levels:
    • Flight Physician: For patients with complex medical histories requiring close monitoring.
    • Medical Nurse Escort: For patients needing assistance with mobility, medication, or hygiene.
    • Stretcher Service: An airline-approved stretcher block for patients who must remain lying flat during the flight.
  • Operational Inclusions: Airline medical clearance (MEDIF) managed on the family’s behalf, in-flight oxygen arrangement, wheelchair assistance, and pre-flight/post-flight ground transport.

3. Ground Ambulance

Regional (Thailand & Cross-Border). Ground Ambulance covers the scheduled road transfers that connect a hospital bed to an airport, another hospital, or home — the critical first and last mile of every journey, keeping the chain of care unbroken.

  • Geographic Reach: All provinces in Thailand, with cross-border transfers to Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Malaysia arranged where required.
  • Clinical Capabilities:
    • Advanced Life Support (ALS): Defibrillators, ventilators, infusion pumps, and spinal immobilization equipment.
    • Tarmac Access: Authorization to drive onto the airport apron for a direct aircraft-to-ambulance handover, rather than routing a patient through a passenger terminal.
  • Operational Inclusions: Inter-hospital transfers, airport retrieval, and standby medical support for events. This is a scheduled transfer service, not an emergency response — for a medical emergency in Thailand right now, call 1669 first.

4. Medical Solutions

MC4S medical coordination team monitoring an international patient transfer across air ambulance, medical escort, and ground ambulance services

24/7 Coordination. Medical Solutions is the coordination layer behind every case — and just as often used entirely on its own, with no flight or ambulance involved. One team acts as the single point of contact for hospitals and families, so no one has to work out which department to call or which form is needed.

  • Case Management: Coordination between sending and receiving physicians — including “Fit-to-Fly” review by the treating doctor — with one named coordinator from first call to resolution.
  • Hospital Bed-Finding: Locating and confirming admission at an appropriate medical facility in Thailand or the destination country.
  • Documentation & Translation: Gathering and translating medical reports, discharge summaries, and consent forms for the receiving hospital.
  • Family Logistics: Visas, flight permissions, and multi-leg itineraries for family members traveling with the patient — with plain-language updates for relatives in any time zone.

Which Service Might You Need?

Patient is stable but needs medical supervision on a commercial flightMedical Escort
Patient needs a safe, monitored road transfer between hospital, airport, or homeGround Ambulance

Not Sure Which Service Applies to Your Situation?

MC4S coordinates Air Ambulance, Medical Escort, Ground Ambulance, and Medical Solutions for patients in Thailand and on international routes — available 24/7. A case assessment is free and is intended to identify the appropriate service for the situation, not the most expensive option available.
